Thanks for the link Keith. I thought it would be interesting to follow my local explorer's path. I am really surprised how many of the local schoolchildren know little or next to nothing about him. I'm trying to fix that. Cheers Dave.

Excellent Dave. When I was a kid my heroes were explorers, woodsmen,Indians etc. These days I am not sure what games kids play but I think things have changed. They need something to get them off the video games & back outside.

I think that is where historical re-enactment is important. Healthy, educational and fun. Personally in the 1970's us teens used to go bush shooting with an old 'bushie' Marist Brother who used to set up camp at a shearers quarters and 'transform' into a Black Watch footsoldier. Kilt and regalia... We were amazed!

I think what you promote Keith is a great thing for young people (and old) to get involved with and I believe everyone should have some primitive skills training before going into the Australian bush.

Not many people offer the old skills you do any more mate and that's a shame I reckon. Well done. Cheers Dave
